Metro Exodus Trailer Shows Overhauled Weapons System

By Rebecca Smith,
When you're trying to battle your way across the post-apocalyptic wastelands of Russia, the weapons you're holding will be the key to your survival. In the latest trailer for Metro Exodus, players get a look at the weapons they'll have in their hands, as well as the weapon customisation system.

In the latest game in the franchise, developer 4A Games has given the weapon system an overhaul. Not only does this mean that each weapon will be "mechanically functional", it allows players to customise their weapons and allows for potentially "hundreds of tactical permutations". However, not only must players pay attention to the ways they can improve their weapon, they also have to make sure it's cleaned and maintained, otherwise it's going to overheat or even jam at what is likely to be the worst possible moment.

Over the next few days, publisher Deep Silver will be giving players a more detailed overview of the four main classes of weapons in the game: Handguns, Rifles, Shotguns, and Special Weapons. The first of those trailers will focus on the Rifles, especially the Bulldog, Kalash, and Valve, the latter of which is Anna's favourite weapon. For now, you can get a closer look at these in the artwork below.

You'll be able to get your hands on these weapons when the game is released on February 15th.
