Guilty Gear Returns in a PlayStation 4 Re-Release

By Sam Quirke,
PQube have announced plans to port Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R (Vita) over to the Nintendo Switch and bundle it with a port of the original Guilty Gear game. As part of that plan, the original game is coming to PlayStation 4 too.

Originally released back in 1998, Guilty Gear is a traditional 2D fighter that was celebrated for its visually impressive combos, a thumping hard rock soundtrack and an involved anime story line — something that developer Arc System Works have turned into a profitable business in the years since with titles like BlazBlue.

Here's the Nintendo Switch trailer — note that the majority of the footage, particularly the first half, is of Accent Core Plus R for the Switch.

There's no release date yet for the Guilty Gear re-release, nor are there further details as to whether there will be any remastering or bonus features. We will update you as soon as we hear more.
