Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Free Blackout Trial Begins Tomorrow

By Rebecca Smith,
One of the new features introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was a take on a Battle Royale mode. Blackout has proven to be quite popular with the players, but in case you haven't taken the plunge yet, Treyarch is offering the mode to all players in a free trial week beginning tomorrow, January 17th.

If that's not enough, there's currently a 115 Day event running in Zombies mode celebrating Element 115 from Zombies lore. Running until 10am PT on January 18th, players will benefit from 2XP, 2X Weapon XP, and 2X Nebulium Plasma while playing Zombies mode. This week, Gauntlets have also been added to the mode. These are replayable challenges where players face 30 rounds of zombies, with each round having "unique rules" that alter gameplay, such as "weapon restrictions, area defense challenges, health-drain modifiers, [and] time limitations". Medals and rewards are given out when players complete 10, 20, and 30 rounds, and if players manage to complete all 30 rounds without failing a single one, they'll get a special reward to add to their Emblem. Players get a Strike for every round failed — three strikes and you're out.

115 Day

All three modes both received several changes and gameplay improvements in the latest patch that went live this week. You can check out all of the changes introduced by patch 1.11 in the spoilers below.
