Ana’s Bastet Challenge Running Now in Overwatch

By Rebecca Smith, 7 months ago
Overwatch: Origins Edition is not just a game, it has a whole series of comics, short stories, and other media that explores the lore of the heroes. One of those heroes is Ana, and after the events of the Old Soldiers comic, she became a guardian called Bastet to keep the peace on the streets of Cairo. A new short story written by Michael Chu has been released this week, and it explains how she adopted her new identity and purpose. To celebrate that short story, a new event known as Ana's Bastet Challenge has begun, giving players a chance to get their hands on the epic Bastet Ana skin, as well as some other rewards.

The first rewards can be earned by playing the game. All players need to do is to win a certain number of matches in Quick Play, Competitive Play, and Arcade modes. Three wins will get players a limited-time player icon. Six wins grants access to a new victory pose, while nine wins will reward players with the new epic skin, Bastet Ana. These rewards are handed out in addition to the usual weekly rewards.

If you want to get your hands on five new sprays, you'll want to stay tuned to Twitch over the next few days. Blizzard Entertainment has partnered with a number of content creators to reward viewers with Twitch Drops as they watch them play Overwatch. A single spray will be awarded for two hours of viewing, with two further sprays awarded for four hours of viewing and the final two awarded for six hours. The trailer below shows how to set up your Twitch account so you can watch the streams and receive the rewards (you need to do this before watching), and you can view the streaming schedule here.

In addition to the above content, players can now get their hands on Overwatch League expansion team skins. Each hero skin is available at a cost of 100 OWL tokens and you'll get both the home and away variants. The teams represented are Atlanta Reign, Chengdu Hunters, Guangzhou Charge, Hangzhou Spark, Paris Eternal, Toronto Defiant, Vancouver Titans, and Washington Justice. If you're interested in watching the 2019 season of the Overwatch League, the opening week begins on February 14th.

Ana's Bastet Challenge is available now and will be running until January 21st, so if you want any of the limited-time content, you'll want to jump into the game sooner rather than later.
