The Order: 1886 Developers Are Hiring For A New Original Game

By Sam Quirke, 4 months ago
Like Ryse on the Xbox One, The Order: 1886 is one of those early titles in the generation that stumbled commercially but is looked on fondly by many. The developer is ready to take another stab at the action genre.

Taking a closer look at the career page, it looks like Ready at Dawn are hiring for both an expansion to their Echo universe on Oculus Rift, and a brand new AAA third-person action title on console, based on an original IP.

It won't be an Order title, but what shape the game will take beyond that is anyone's guess. Ready At Dawn have had a pretty scatter-shot career when it comes to themes and tones. They worked on Daxter and the God of War spin-offs for PSP, and the only other major console title they have developed was the troubled and now-defunct multiplayer game Deformers.

Whatever it is, we're likely a while away from concrete news — the job listings include some pretty fundamental positions like Lead Artist and Senior Combat Systems Designer. Whatever happens, we'll be sure to let you know.
