HITMAN HD Enhanced Collection Announced for PlayStation 4

News this week has been fairly quiet, so IO Interactive has decided to liven things up with a surprise announcement for the HITMAN franchise. The developer has remastered Hitman: Blood Money and Hitman: Absolution as the Hitman HD Enhanced Collection for PlayStation 4. What's more, the collection will be arriving next week.

If you haven't played either of the titles before, Blood Money takes players to a variety of locations around the world as Agent 47 investigates the systematic elimination of agents within the ICA. When he loses touch with the agency itself, he realises he may be the next target and heads out to locate and eliminate The Franchise, a group of assassins he believes to be responsible. Meanwhile, Absolution once again puts players in the shoes of Agent 47 as he takes on 20 more missions in his usual style.

The collection will feature the following improvements for the two games, including enhancements for the PlayStation 4:

  • 4K visuals at 60 frames per second
  • Increased texture resolution
  • Upgraded texture formats
  • Super-sampling
  • Upscale support
  • Heightened shadow map and mirror resolutions
  • Improved lighting
  • Updated controls for a more fluid experience
If you're looking forward to trying these titles out with their new features, you can get your hands on the collection as early as next week, January 11th.
