Happy Holidays! The year is drawing to a close and with it comes a relatively quiet period for gaming news and releases. It's time to kick back and celebrate the season with family and friends, eat good food... and play some games!
The question is, what will you be playing? We want to know what the TT community will be getting stuck into this festive season. I don't know exactly what the rest of the crew are getting up to — though I know Rich
plans to throw down with Beat Saber
if his Move controllers ever arrive — so here's some of the games I'm personally looking to spend some quality time with over the holidays.
I've recently finished the HITMAN 2
Holiday Hoarders pack, which so perfectly subverts Home Alone
that it makes me want to watch the original movie all over again. It also makes me want to min-max one of my favourite stealth strategy experiences on any console; I've still barely touched most of the new maps as I try and perfect my ratings for the Legacy levels (free for anyone who has a copy of the first season). Elsewhere I will be waiting for the next Assassin's Creed Odyssey
update to tick over and give access to yet another mission and mythical boss, and I'll also be introducing my family to the delights of madcap cooking adventure Overcooked! 2
. Speaking of family, we've been loving the PlayStation 4's PlayLink offerings (which let you play certain party games using a dedicated app on your phone instead of your controller) and so we will probably test each other's skill and patience with both Wordhunters
and Knowledge is Power: Decades
On other systems, I still have a few games to play if I want to round out my Game of the Year considerations. I'm currently brig-deep into nautical mystery The Return of the Obra Dinn
on Steam and hope to get some time with the poignant FAR: Lone Sails
on the platform as well. I have Let's Go! Eevee
waiting for me on my Switch and one of my all-time favourites Luigi's Mansion
ready to go on my 3DS for the longer commutes of the season.
But that's enough from me — what will the TT community be playing in the coming week or two? Will you be crashing into those massive PlayStation sales and picking up an obscene bargain? Are you hoping for a PlayStation VR to be stuffed awkwardly into your stocking? Or maybe you're going to kick back with an old favourite before the swarm of titles due in 2019 brings you back to the present day? Let us know in the comments!
