If you can't beat them, join them. Developer IO Interactive has released the second "significant" update for HITMAN 2, and in it the game will be joining the ranks of the others who are holding holiday events this year. As well as the Holiday Hoarders event, there are also four new Featured Contracts Challenges and a whole host of bug fixes and minor gameplay changes.
The Holiday Hoarders event introduces a new mission where players can use festive items to assassinate their targets. There's also a Challenge Pack that rewards players with the Santa 47 outfit to use in all locations whenever they wish. Players have until January 8th to unlock the Santa 47 suit.
There are also four new Challenges linked to Featured Contracts. Each of the completed Challenges will reward players with a permanent reward. Each contract can only be completed once to count for the Challenges, although if you've completed a contract before the Challenges went live today, you can complete it again for it to count. The team is planning to release five new Featured Contracts per month, so it might take a while before players earn the rewards for the bigger challenges:
You can see the rest of the changes in the spoiler below:
- Contract Apprentice - Complete 5 Featured Contracts to unlock the Measuring Tape.
- Contract Journeyman - Complete 15 Featured Contracts to unlock the Handyman Wrench.
- Contract Specialist - Complete 25 Featured Contracts to unlock the [Redacted unlock].
- Contract Master - Complete 40 Featured Contracts to unlock the [Redacted unlock].
This isn't the last of the new game content by any means. The team is already preparing for another update in January, bringing more fixes and improvements. There will be another roadmap released next month so you can see exactly what the team has in mind. For now, the December update is available now.
