Anthem's Closed Alpha Begins in December, Registration Open Now

By PhantomFear94, 11 months ago
EA has announced that its upcoming multiplayer RPG Anthem, due for full release on February 22nd, 2019, will be getting a closed alpha community playtest very soon. For players wanting to try Bioware's new open-world space shooter, the closed alpha will be available between December 8th - 9th and you'll need to register before the December 3rd deadline.

Those interested in checking out Anthem early will need to have a valid PS Plus subscription. It should also be stated that a closed alpha is a more restrictive experience than beta playtesting. EA has acknowledged that matchmaking and server load will be adjusted "on the fly", and that the alpha will be "limited" in what it shares. Additionally, any progress made will not be carried forward to future community playtests or the full release.

Players must also fully respect EA's non-disclosure requirements (which are available to view through this alpha agreement). Namely, players must be at least 18 years of age to participate and must treat the alpha's contents as strictly confidential. This means that the alpha cannot be streamed, and information/experiences cannot be published or shared on social media, websites or anywhere public.

Those who wish to register for the closed alpha can follow these steps.

Step 1

Head to the EA Community Playtesting site

Step 2

Sign in with your EA account

Step 3

Choose your platform, and select which sessions you want to play. You can apply for as many or as few sessions as you like. Sessions run from 0900 - 1200, and 1400 - 1700 on both days.

Step 4

Wait to see if you have been accepted. If you have, you'll get a confirmation from the EA Community Playtesting site and an email with download instructions. The alpha can also be pre-downloaded.
For those signing up, please be aware that entry is granted on a "first come first served" basis, and registration does not automatically guarantee you a spot. Pre-ordering Anthem or being an EA access member has no bearing on who is accepted, and registering in the above manner is the only way to get access. Finally, those who miss out can sign up on a waitlist. You'll again get your download instructions through email if you are given the opportunity to join.
