The Walking Dead: The Final Season is Back in Production

By Rebecca Smith,
When Telltale Games closed in September, it left The Walking Dead: The Final Season in limbo. Episode 1 was already available, Episode 2 was due the following week, and the future of Episodes 3 and 4 were thrown into jeopardy. While Episode 2 was released for season pass holders, it was delisted shortly after alongside the rest of the game. According to an update from Skybound, this is because the content had to be removed while the rights transitioned to their company, but now the future is looking far brighter for the game.

Skybound has hired "many" of the team members that used to work at Telltale and, specifically, on the final season of The Walking Dead. With the help of those new team members, development of Episodes 3 and 4 began again at Skybound yesterday, and the release dates for those two episodes will be announced "soon".

Now that the rights for the game have transferred to Skybound, the team is looking to bring the rest of the game "back online ASAP". Despite the new developer, players who own the game's Season Pass will still be able to download the remaining two episodes at no extra cost — you will not have to pay again.
