As we know from the Red Dead Redemption 2 Trophies list, Red Dead Online is very much a part of the RDR2 experience and will feature plenty of trophy-related activities. We just don't know when the mode will appear.
In a recent earnings call Take-Two Interactive's CEO Strauss Zelnick has confirmed that the Beta version of the online mode will definitely be here by the end of the month — which means we have at most a three week wait for Red Dead Online to appear.
What remains to be seen is whether the Beta will allow players to unlock trophies. Given the major difficulties Grand Theft Auto Online had in its first few weeks and how some of those bugs directly impacted trophy acquisition, we wouldn't be surprised if there weren't at least some hiccups when players go to try and get their Platinum — unless Rockstar release a Beta in which trophies cannot be unlocked at all until they are satisfied that everything is working correctly.
Elsewhere in the call, Strauss confirmed that a staggering 17 million units of the game have sold in its first eight days; for context, that's as many units as Red Dead Redemption moved in its first eight years. It remains to be seen whether Red Dead Online can continue to boost those sales further into the future like its cousin Grand Theft Auto Online.
