PSN Name Changes on TrueTrophies

By Jack Watling, 7 months ago
Recently, Sony announced that they would be introducing name changes for PlayStation Network accounts.

With the feature now available to beta testers, we've added some additional functionality on site to ensure it's as easy as possible to keep your TrueTrophies and PlayStation account names in sync.

Updating your PSN Name on TrueTrophies

When signed in, you can find a new tab on your Account Settings page called "Update PSN Name". From this page, all you need to do is enter your new PlayStation Network name, your TrueTrophies password (for verification), and then hit the "Change" button.

We'll then do a couple of behind the scenes checks, grab some data from your new PlayStation Network name, and attempt to match the two.

If everything looks good, we'll then update your TrueTrophies account username, send you a PM to let you know it's all worked, and add an item to your friend feed so all of your friends know that you've changed your name — from this point on, you'll need to log in to TrueTrophies using your new name.

If for some reason we cannot match your accounts, we won't update your TrueTrophies profile, but we will send you a PM to let you know the request was unsuccessful, and make a note in our systems. We'll have to look into issues like these on a case by case basis.

We hope this new feature makes it painless to keep everything in sync and please let us know below if you have any questions or feedback.
