We're only a few weeks away from the launch of Assassin's Creed Odyssey
, so Ubisoft have outlined the game's post-launch DLC plans. Among news of free content and episodic Season Pass expansions is the surprise inclusion of an Assassin's Creed III Remaster
— bringing all but the first of the series' core games to the current generation. It will include the "Tyranny of King George" expansion as well as the Benedict Arnold missions and the Hidden Secrets Pack. It'll also contain a remaster of Assassin's Creed Liberation
— assuming it has been updated again this will be the second remastering of the title since its original release on the PlayStation Vita.
As well as Assassin's Creed III
, Season Pass holders will get two substantial pieces of story-based DLC, each delivered in three episodes. One, the "Legacy of the First Blade", has players fight alongside the original wielder of the iconic Hidden Blade. The second explores the lost city of Atlantis and promises to reveal more secrets of the series' First Civilization. The first episode of "Legacy of the First Blade" will arrive in December with further episodes arriving regularly. After that the "Fate of Atlantis" expansion will arrive, with the first episode landing in Spring 2019.
For players without the Season Pass there is still a lot of planned content that will be available for free. The "Lost Tales of Greece" content will provide smaller quest expansions and will arrive in between the episodes of the larger DLCs. Daily and weekly contracts will appear for the player to track down, including weekly appearances of epic ships or mercenaries. The violence-free edutainment mode Discovery Tour also returns after its success in Assassin's Creed Origins
. Here's a video breaking everything down.
Ubisoft also released the TV teaser for the game, in case all of that news hasn't already gotten you in the mood.Assassin's Creed Odyssey
