Absolver Gets a Free Expansion This Month

By Sam Quirke, 2 months ago
A lot of us may now be sitting on a free copy of melee action game Absolver thanks to its inclusion in July's PS Plus line-up. As if that wasn't enough, Sloclap are launching some free DLC this month as well. As announced on the PlayStation Blog, the new content will provide something for both PvE and PvP enthusiasts.

Absolver

Absolver: Downfall has two major features. The first, the titular Downfall game mode, takes players on solo or co-op runs down into the Adalian Mines. Players will collect Gleam from infected Prospects that can be turned into experience and gear rewards. The more Gleam players acquire, the more powerful the player becomes, eventually taking on antagonist Arcell. Each run is a unique experience through various challenges and situations and includes three boss fights.

The second major feature is the Faejin combat style, inspired by Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do. It's the most complex combat style in the game but its fluidity powered offensive strikes balance with stance-shifting defensive abilities. Faejin features attacks for bare hands, gloves and sword combat.

The expansion also features School Challenges with reworked School Leaderboards with rankings updated at the end of each Season. There will also be new equipment sets, prestige variants of previous sets, new masks, intros and emotes. The new expansion arrives on September 25th.
