Twin Mirror Developer Diary Explores the Rust Belt Town of Basswood

By Sam Quirke, 2 months ago
Twin Mirror is the latest narrative adventure from Life Is Strange developers DONTNOD Entertainment. We've recently heard that the game will feature three episodes and has a Sherlock Holmes-esque "mind palace" feature, albeit with a more supernatural twist. In this new developer diary, the team discuss the basics of this investigative thriller and the town it takes place in.

The developers describe the game as a "noir" detective thriller that takes place in a modern-day rust-belt Virginian town, bereft of the industries that made it a successful place to live and now suffering in lean times. The hero Sam is an archetypal conflicted noir protagonist, a detective embroiled in a dark and twisting mystery that is somewhat of his own making.

The first of Twin Mirror's three episodes, "Lost on Arrival", is currently only broadly scheduled for a 2019 release on PlayStation 4.

We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the Twin Mirror trophies.
