In the world of Anthem, your progression is marked both in the evolving multiplayer open world and back in the homestead of Fort Tarsis, where the single player story expands along with your relationships with characters. That's according to the latest update from EA. A new trailer gives us the basics:
In the shared multiplayer world a lot of details will be in sync between all players on a dedicated server including weather, day/night cycles and large-scale events. The world of Anthem will change dramatically as the game progresses.
On the other side is the player's personal story, which takes place in the central hub of Fort Tarsis. Here players develop relationships with their pit crew and see the consequences of your decisions. People in Fort Tarsis will react to your previous actions. Various agents in Tarsis will help you get to know the various factions at play in Anthem.
The two aspects of the game will weave a larger story together. Actions taken in the shared world will have consequences in your personal story, while decisions made and missions accepted in Fort Tarsis will open up new aspects of the larger world.
In other news, Anthem is getting a demo on February 1st next year, available to anyone who pre-orders the game.
The full game arrives on February 22nd 2019.
