Twin Mirror Will Be Episodic, Features a Sherlock-Like Mind Palace

By Sam Quirke,
In case you missed it, Twin Mirror is an upcoming investigative thriller from the studio behind Vampyr and the Life Is Strange Series, announced at this year's E3 event. Details were fairly thin on the ground at the time but Bandai Namco and DONTNOD have brought some more detail to Gamescom in Cologne.

This new trailer efficiently covers the two narrative and gameplay conceits that define Twin Mirror's investigative journey. Protagonist Samuel Higgs has access to a Sherlock Holmes-like Mind Palace, a place in his head in which he can recreate scenes and memories based on clues he has found in the real world. However, Samuel also has an interior doppelganger; "The Double" is a sarcastic second voice in his mind, and we're not sure if he's there to help or hinder Samuel in his attempts to solve the mystery. Part of the player's journey will be to discover the true purpose and origins of "The Double".

Twin Mirror will release in three episodes. The first, "Lost on Arrival", is due to launch in early 2019 on PlayStation 4.
