Capcom have chosen Gamescom as the platform to announce Devil May Cry 5's release date. A new gameplay trailer shows off Nero's acrobatic combat style, and a stubbly Dante shows up to smack people with a motorbike.
Story details have emerged too: DMC 5 begins with another demonic invasion of the world when the seeds of a "demon tree" takes root in Red Grave City. Nero and his partner Nico arrive in their motorhome. Nero only has the use of his left arm, so Nico makes a variety of unique Devil Breaker mechanical arms, each granting special abilities.
An Overture Devil Breaker arm looks plain enough that Nero can wear it on inconspicuous outings in the city, but it can shock any demons that stray too near. The Gerbera Devil Breaker shoots out powerful shock waves that can directly attack opponents or deflect projectiles, as well as propel Nero through the air. These Devil Breakers can be used in conjunction with Nero's Red Queen sword and Blue Rose handgun to make battles explosively diverse. We can't forget Dante either, who shows up on a motorbike that can be split in two to use as a dual-wield weapon.
Devil May Cry 5 arrives on March 8th, 2019 on PlayStation 4.
We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the Devil May Cry 5 trophies.
