Surviving Mars Gets a Creative Mode in the Next Free Update

By Sam Quirke, 9 months ago
Martian city simulator Surviving Mars is getting two free content updates, including a Creative Mode that gives players an easier time of things in order to try out the various mechanics or build their perfect Martian base.

Surviving Mars

The "Da Vinci Mode" modifies the experience so that colonists cannot die from starvation, suffocation or exposure. They'll never drop below 50 health or sanity whatever the player does. Aspiring town planners will also start off with $100 trillion in the bank and buildings do not need resources to build or maintain.

This will be balanced out by the "Sagan" update, which brings more challenge to the base game. There are 24 challenges that will need a separate playthrough each to complete. If you want to get an "Excellent" rating in these, you'll have to be quick and resourceful.

The "Da Vinci" update is already live on PC and is coming to consoles "soon". The "Sagan" update arrives on all platforms at some point in September.

We've got the full list of Surviving Mars trophies - check the list for guides to unlocking them.
