Middle-earth: Shadow of War Gets a Definitive Edition

Following on from the news that Middle-earth: Shadow of War had got rid of its controversial microtransactions in the latest patch, Warner Bros. Interactive are now offering a Definitive Edition featuring the game's DLC.

Definitive Edition

Specifically, that means the Definitive Edition will include:

  • Middle Earth: Shadow of War
  • "Slaughter Tribe" Nemesis Expansion
  • "Outlaw Tribe" Nemesis Expansion
  • "Blade of Galadriel" Story Expansion
  • "Desolation of Mordor" Story Expansion
The Definitive Edition of course comes packed in with all of the content updates and changes that have been added to the base game for free since release, including the removal of the Market and those pesky microtransactions and the reworked Post-Game Epilogue. Warner Bros. also reminded us that there's a free demo of the game on PlayStation Store as well. In other words, they'd really like you to give this game another chance if you passed on it during its turbulent launch.

The Shadow of War Definitive Edition arrives on August 31st. We're not sure if the Definitive Edition will have a separate, stackable trophy list, but it's certainly a real possibility since it's predecessor's Game of the Year Edition had its own list. We'll let you know if it does appear.
