Huge Update to Enter the Gungeon Arrives This Week

By Sam Quirke,
You'd be forgiven for skipping over Enter the Gungeon when it first arrived on the scene, but it's a game you should consider taking a look at — by many accounts it's one of the most engaging and entertaining entries in the admittedly bloated dungeon-crawling, top-down, roguelite-shmup space. It can be a little punishing to the beginner though, which is perhaps why one of the main focuses of the massive "Advanced Gungeons and Draguns" update is to give the player more flexibility in terms of difficulty.

The expansion is a little late, originally slated for the autumn of 2017, but hey — it's free. Going by the details given at the original announcement, the update includes hundreds of new synergies, a bunch of new guns and items, new rooms, NPCs, secrets and even a new mini-boss. What really matters to the developers are the changes and quality-of-life features that should make things better for all players.

"If you tried Gungeon in the past and found it too hard, too stingy, or too slow- this update will be the version for you. If you liked it just the way it was, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered as well."
Players who want the pure original experience will find that they now have options to crank the difficulty and complexity back up, while newer players have the opportunity to get more comfortable with the mechanics thanks to a more generous default mode.

You'll only have to wait a few short days to find out how this works for yourself — "Advanced Gungeons and Draguns" enters the Gungeon on July 19th on PlayStation 4.
