DAKAR 18 Goes Cross-Country in September

By Rebecca Smith,
The Dakar rally sees competitors race across South America in the biggest off-road endurance event in the world. Due to the tough terrain, racers can use a variety of vehicles to get to the finish line, often covering vast distances in a day. Developer Bigmoon Entertainment will be aiming to recreate the rally with a realistic simulation in one of the biggest open worlds ever created, and they've announced that the game will be arriving on consoles in September.

Players will have to use the real road books to plan their route across each of the rally's 14 stages, including Peru, Bolivia, and Argentina. Be it single player, splitscreen or online multiplayer races, five categories of vehicles will be available for players to use: Cars, Bikes, Trucks, Quads, and SxS. The latest trailer shows these classes of vehicles in action in the hostile environment.

As stated at the end of the trailer, DAKAR 18 will be released on September 11th, so you have two months to prepare yourself for finding sand in places you didn't know existed.
