Cats & Dogs Make Their Way To Console Versions Of The Sims 4 This July By Andy Mills, 02 Jul 2018 CommentsOriginally released on PC towards the end of last year, the "Cats & Dogs" expansion will make its way to the console versions of The Sims 4 next month. As you can probably infer from the name, the expansion pack reintroduces the internet's favourite pets to the world of The Sims, but also adds a couple of new pet-related features into the mix for good measure. Prospective pet owners will want to start with the Create-A-Pet tool. Players will be able to choose from a "seemingly-endless" amount of dog and cat breeds and mix any two breeds — although presumably both breeds have to be from the same animal — in an attempt to create their perfect pet. It doesn't quite end there however as there's the painting feature that will allow for adding anything from a few spots to stencilling more complicated designs. Depending on the design, that might count as animal cruelty, you would've thought. Finally, there's even a selection of costumes to dress up your pet in, if that's your kind of thing. Once the pet has been created, they will live out their own unique lives thanks to having their own system of Traits, fears, desires and more. Sims will of course be able interact with their pets with dog lovers in particular able to teach those good boys increasingly complicated tricks and walk them around the new world of Brindleton Bay to stretch their legs and chase some birds. For when those pets get sick, there's also the new Veterinarian skill, career and business for Sims to be a part of. To see all of this in action, check out the announcement trailer below.
