If the E3 trailer for Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age got you excited for the next instalment of the beloved series, today is your lucky day. Square Enix have released the entirety of their show-floor Q&A with producer Hokuto Okamoto and director Takeshi Uchikawa, including lots of live gameplay.

After a short story trailer, the developers take us through a desert region of the game that players can expect to discover about 10 hours into their play through. We see the traditional JRPG battle system in play before heading into a city.

Around the 18 minute mark you can see the horse racing mini-game, while at 25:00 the hero heads back into the open world, and at 30:00 you can see the party take on a boss enemy, the Slayer of the Sands, before the developers start asking some questions from the fans.

Curiously, at the 40 minute mark, the Dragon Quest talk comes to a halt and we get a trailer for mobile game Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. All is revealed about five minutes later when an extremely brief trailer reveals that Dragon Quest content will feature in Brave Exvius to celebrate the launch of Dragon Quest XI. The rest of the stream talks about the mobile crossover in more detail.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age arrives on PlayStation 4 on September 4th 2018 for Western audiences. It's already available in Japan.

We've got the full list of Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age trophies - check the list for guides to unlocking them.
