Ni no Kuni II Patch Adds Harder Difficulty Modes

By Sam Quirke,
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom came out back in March and charmed us all once again with its beauty. But a pretty game still needs to be a challenge, which is perhaps why Bandai Namco have seen fit to release a new patch containing Hard and Expert difficulty modes, with the pre-patch game experience being relabelled as the Normal difficulty. The video below confirms that, as you might suspect, the core difference will be in the enemies' ability to deal and withstand more damage.

To offset the increased difficulty, the harder modes will offer greater rewards in chests, and there's the possibility that monsters will drop accessories with two skill slots. Brand new Rare accessories and equipment skills have been added by the patch, and the usual minor bug and balance clean-up will take place as well. In particular, the airship will no longer be able to land in certain places that it was mistakenly able to touch down.

The patch notes were released in full on Gematsu.

Version 1.03 should be available for Ni no Kuni II right now.
