We've actually known Etherborn was coming to PlayStation for a while, with the game being announced last year. Development has continued since then and the developer recently concluded a new crowdfunding venture for the game with the hope of polishing the content, finishing the last few cutscenes, and generally getting the game ready for release. Their success means development continues as planned.
The campaign called Etherborn an "environmental puzzle platformer built on exploring and understanding gravity-shifting structures." The developer says the puzzles will be the levels themselves rather than having puzzles inside of the levels. As you move around the floating levels in 3D, it should feel a bit like solving a Rubik's Cube. The developer assures that the levels will be well-designed and connected so that you'll be rewarded for taking things in and giving it some thought. You can check out the crowdfunding trailer below as well as get a look at some gameplay in the developer's Let's Play.
Etherborn will launch late this year on PC, with the console versions coming some time after that.
We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the Etherborn trophies.
