Developer Auroch Digital has announced upcoming simulation game Mars Horizon
, which combines "rocket building, mission control, and space agency management."
In the game, players can select to run the space agency from various nations and will then "collaborate or compete in a decades-spanning campaign to expand humanity’s reach further into space." Every decision creates for a unique series of events, and players can complete actions like "building iconic rockets, probes, and satellites that transmit crucial scientific data back to your customizable Earth HQ." The final goal is to send the first humans to Mars.Mars Horizon
has a surprising supporter as well: the UK Space Agency, which provided not only a grant but also "advice and information on space exploration and the running of an actual space agency."
A few screenshots have been released, although the developer emphasizes the stills are from a pre-alpha version of the game:Mars Horizon
is expected to release in Q4 of this year.
We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the Mars Horizon trophies.
