March's announcement of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has breathed new life into 2015's Call of Duty: Black Ops III. With the full reveal of Black Ops 4 scheduled for May 17th, Treyarch has released the Operation Swarm update for Black Ops III, which adds the Prop Hunt mode, new weapons and camo, and a revamped Fringe map.
The popular Prop Hunt mode, which features players posing as everyday objects like garbage cans and brooms while others attempt to find them, has been featured in many Call of Duty games and will be available in Black Ops III on ten different maps. The Nuk3town map operates differently than the others, and players can only pose as mannequins, "although the pose and model for each mannequin will be random."

Two new weapons will be added:
RPK
The RPK makes the jump from the original Black Ops into Black Ops 3, providing players with a chance to add this lethal LMG to their loadouts. Slap on Extended Mag for an enormous ammo reserve, and stick with the RPK’s iron sights for optimal visibility.
Sten
The Sten submachine gun has been a staple in Call of Duty games set in the World War II era, and previously made it into the world of Black Ops via the original Call of Duty: Black Ops. Now, that close-quarters efficiency comes to Black Ops 3 for players who like to get up close and personal. Toss in a Reflex sight and an Extended Mag, and you’re a force to be reckoned with.
Lastly, a night variant of the Fringe map, called Fringe Nightfall, has been added. In the variant, "a storm rolls in across the horizon, making it the perfect evening for a new conflict."
In addition to the Prop Hunt mode and weapons, limited-time cosmetic items will be added throughout the event as well as double XP playlists. To start, players can get an Operation Swarm calling card for logging in between now and May 9th.
