Retro-Inspired Racer Horizon Chase Turbo Reannounced

By Kelly Packard, 1 year ago
Developer Aquiris has re-announced Horizon Chase Turbo for PlayStation 4. Originally revealed two years ago, the upcoming title is being called a "thrilling arcade racing game" inspired by classic racers of the '80s and '90s like OutRun, Lotus Turbo Challenge, and Top Gear.

With Horizon Chase Turbo, the developers strove for a modernized version of 16-bit graphics. The music is done by Barry Leitch, who was previously a sound designer on OutRun , Lotus Turbo Challenge, and Rush.

A lot of content is promised, including "12 Cups, 48 Cities, 110 tracks, 26 Unlockable Cars and 10 Upgrades." There is no online aside from playing against your friends' ghosts, plus online leaderboards, but there is up to four-player split-screen.

Horizon Chase Turbo is slated to launch for PlayStation 4 on May 15th
