Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and 2 Confirmed

By Ethan Anderson,
Mega Man Legacy Collection and Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 allowed fans of the series to replay the original games. Now, it's time to return to the past (technically the future this time) once again in the form of Mega Man X Legacy Collection and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2. You will be able to join X, Zero, and Axl in 21XX when the collections launch on July 24th.

Eight Mega Man X games will be available, divided between the two collections. Mega Man X Legacy Collection will contain Mega Man X, X2, X3, and X4, while Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 will include X5, X6, X7, and X8. Each collection is available digitally at the price of US$19.99. In North America, they can be bought together in a retail bundle for US$39.99, which comes with a disc for each collection.

All eight games contain graphical improvements, but players are given the option to play them in their original resolutions. The games can also be switched to widescreen mode, or played full screen without affecting the aspect ratios.

Both collections will include The Day of Sigma as well. The Day of Sigma is a video that focuses on events leading up to Mega Man X as it looks at the series' antagonist. Players will also be able to view vintage trailers, art, trading cards, toys, and more for each game. Additionally, each collection will include the full soundtrack for the four games it contains, along with some brand new tracks.

On top of all of those things, there is also a new mode called X Challenge in which players will be able to face off against two bosses at once. In this mode you will be able to take three weapons with you, or just stick with your buster for more of a challenge. The leaderboard support will show you how you fare compared to others in terms of time.

Legacy Collection

If all of that isn't enough Mega Man for you, then you can also look forward to Mega Man 11, which is launching later this year.
