Console players have watched patiently, or perhaps not so patiently, as PC players have indulged in Larian Studios' Divinity: Original Sin 2
since September 2017. Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition
was on Xbox One and PS4, so there was always hope console players would not be left in the cold when it came to the RPG's sequel, which was crowdfunded on Kickstarter
in 2015. A console release has finally been confirmed by Bandai Namco, who has undertaken publishing duties of the ports.Divinity: Original Sin II
was praised for the freedom given to players in the open world and was proclaimed one of the best RPGs of all time by many players and publications. Six unique characters can be chosen from before setting out to explore the wide-open world of Rivellon.
Bandai Namco promises the Xbox One and PS4 user interfaces will be tailored for console. There will be both four-player online co-op and two-player split-screen. There will also be "additional content updates" and "extra features," which are yet to be announced.
Divinity: Original Sin II
will launch for PS4 in September.
