PixARK Explorers Guide to Taming

By Rebecca Smith, 6 months ago
To prepare players for PixARK's arrival, developer Snail Games has started a video series of Explorers Guides, teaching players the basics of their upcoming game. The first of these videos introduces players to taming.

There are two ways of taming a creature in the game: passive and knock out. Passive creatures won't harm players unless they are directly threatened, and these are fairly easy creatures to tame. All you need to do is feed them several times. More aggressive creatures will need to be tamed using a knock out strategy. Both sleepy arrows and certain melee weapons will allow players to knock out an aggressive animal rather than kill it. Once the creature is knocked out, you'll need to fill up its food inventory, but make sure it stays unconscious while you do this, otherwise you'll need to start all over again.

The control prompts in the video are based on PC, but the gist is the same for PlayStation 4. Check out the video below for more details.

You'll be able to tame your own creatures when PixARK is released later this year.

We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the PixARK trophies.
