THQ Nordic Announces Revival of Nickelodeon 16 Properties Including Avatar

By Kevin Tavore, 9 months ago
Once upon a time, Nickelodeon game tie-ins were gaming's bread and butter for THQ. The publisher pumped out numerous titles in combination with the television giant, bringing quite a few properties to consoles with surprisingly decent quality to boot. When THQ died, it seemed those days of tie-ins had died with it. Now, the new THQ Nordic, which isn't actually THQ at all but rather a separate publisher using their name and properties, has announced that Nickelodeon's titles will be coming back into the limelight.

What's making a return? Quite a large list of titles:
  • Avatar: The Last Airbender
  • Back At The Barnyard
  • Catscratch
  • Danny Phantom
  • El Tigre
  • Invader Zim
  • Jimmy Neutron
  • My Life As A Teenage Robot
  • Rocket Power
  • Rocko's Modern Life
  • Rugrats
  • SpongeBob SquarePants
  • Tak And The Power Of JUJU
  • The Fairly OddParents (US only)
  • The Ren & Stimpy Show
  • The Wild Thornberrys
The inclusion that no doubt caught your eye is Avatar. Could it be the infamous Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Burning Earth? We don't know, but as the only Avatar game available on consoles (we're not counting The Legend of Korra), there's a decent chance it could be making its way back. At this point, we don't know if any of these series will see a return to any specific console, but frankly that's no reason not to get excited.
