Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night Developer Update Focuses On The Music

Developer Inti CREATES Inc. remain hard at work on Koji Igarashi-helmed Castlevania-inspired — although does it really count as inspiration when the director working this game was behind the inspiration — title Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. As a Kickstarter project, it's particularly important to keep fans and backers updated. Fortunately, this doesn't seem to be an issue with the team releasing regular updates with one such update released just a few days ago.

This update is a particularly happy one as it was revealed that one aspect of the game has been completed: the orchestral soundtrack. To celebrate this completion, we hear from composers Michiru Yamane — who worked on Castlevania titles for almost as long as Igarashi himself — Ryusuke Fujioka and Keisuke Ito about their musical processes.

That wasn't the only good news either as the team revealed that work has begun on recording the game's script. One of the first in the recording booth was a man most famous as the voice of one of Konami's other major franchises, David Hayter!

Finally, there was the announcement of another demo. Available to those who backed the game, this demo will include and build upon the game's previous galleon level demo allowing players to progress a little further. The slight downside is that no matter what platform a person backed for, the code will only work on Steam because the demo has only been made for PC.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is currently scheduled to release later this year. The team have promised a March update "packed to the gills" with content so perhaps there'll be a more concrete release date. Or maybe they're just preparing us to hear about a lot of fish. We'll bring you all up to speed as soon as they let us know.
