Tabletop RPG Mutant Year Zero Coming to PS4 as a Strategy Game

Those familiar with tabletop games may be excited to learn the Modiphius Entertainment IP Mutant Year Zero is coming to consoles in 2018 as a turn-based strategy game called Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden. If you're unfamiliar, this cinematic reveal trailer will clue you into the story universe's unique aesthetic, complete with dermatologically-altered humans, shotgun-wielding robots, and bipedal ducks.

The game is billed as a tactical adventure combining story, stealth, and exploration with the turn-based combat of XCOM. The project is said to include former leads from 2016's HITMAN and Ulf Andersson, the designer of Payday. It's being published by Funcom, who previously self-published their own games Conan: Exiles and The Park. This time around, it'll be Sweden's The Bearded Ladies developing.

Road to Eden's real-time stealth mechanics can be seen in action on the game's official website, alongside some other gameplay highlights. You can also find some reveal screenshots below.

The story will allow for branching paths and you'll meet many party members on your travels, including the featured bizarre creatures in the above trailer. Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is scheduled to arrive this year.

We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden trophies.
