Battlefield 1 Emergency Update Fixes Lag

By Rebecca Smith, 10 months ago
Last week, Battlefield 1 Revolution players and those who owned the Season Pass began their two week early access period for the game's "Apocalypse" DLC. Alongside that DLC came a patch for all players, but the addition of the new assignments and rewards within that update caused too much of a strain on the game's tracking system, causing lag and other performance issues for many players. Now an emergency patch has been released to combat these issues.

The main highlight of the patch is changes that have been made to the new Service Assignments. Players no longer have to complete five of the Staying Focused Assignments before they can make progress in the Climbing The Ranks Assignments. DICE has also moved around some of the Service Assignments that unlocked the newly added Afflictions — these are now placed underneath the Climbing The Ranks Assignments in a new role as a "soft gate" before accessing Afflictions. Despite these changes, players will not lose any of the progress they have already made on their Affliction Assignments and they will also keep the Afflictions they have already earned.

The patch also fixed a couple of other minor points:

  • Fixed an issue where players were experiencing a momentary dip in performance whenever earning points in a match.
  • Fixed an issue where the Hellriegel 1915 Factory was missing sights.
  • Fixed an issue where the Hellriegel 1915 Defensive was missing the optical sight
The patch is available now and will be ready to download if you haven't done so already.
