Insurgency: Sandstorm BRRRRRRRRTTT Trailer and Livestream Video

The Insurgency franchise has come a long way from its origins as a Half-Life 2 mod, reaching almost 2 million PC players with the release of sequel Insurgency in 2014. Insurgency: Sandstorm will be the first game in the series to receive a console release. Two new videos from New World Interactive for the upcoming tactical shooter show off a new explosive autocannon Fire Support option and featurette.

The BRRRRRRRRTTT trailer for Insurgency: Sandstorm introduces a new Fire Support option that calls in an explosive autocannon gun run. When a Commander and an Observer, two special player classes, are close to one another, they can work together to bring in Fire Support. First the Commander gives an order for the type of Fire Support they want, and then the Observer makes the request using their radio.

Next up is a long play video with footage from the latest of New World Interactive's weekly livestreams. It kicks off with a new Insurgency: Sandstorm featurette and discussion of the upcoming title, followed by competitive gameplay of Insurgency on PC.

Insurgency: Sandstorm will stay true to the spirit of predecessor Insurgency, rewarding objective play and teamwork over personal glory. Battles of up to 16v16 can be fought on expansive maps with sizes and play areas that adjust according to the game mode. While Insurgency is predominantly known as a multiplayer game, the maps can also be played co-op against bots.

Insurgency: Sandstorm is expected to launch later this year.
