Canadian developer Household Games, made up from alumni from Guacamelee
developer DrinkBox Studios, as well as Silicon Knights and Queasy Games, has revealed the release date for their debut game Way of the Passive Fist
with a new trailer. Their love letter to the licensed arcade brawlers of the 90s will be with us in early March.
Unlike those brawlers of the past, however, the focus is on a defensive style of fighting, where players must use parries, dashes, deflections and dodges to wear down enemies before beating them with a single hit, all of which you can see in the trailer below. Not really shown but certainly worthy of mentioning is the developer's focus on accessibility, with players able to change all manner of options to suit their needs — whether that's re-mapping the control scheme to be playable one-handed, changing graphical settings to avoid flashing lights or to help the visually impaired, or even just changing difficulty settings to fit the player's play-style.
Way of the Passive Fist
fights its way, passively of course, onto PlayStation 4 on March 6th.
