Johan Cruyff Is Coming To Pro Evolution Soccer 2018

For Pro Evolution Soccer 2018's myClub mode, the game's alternative to FIFA's Ultimate Team, Konami has occasionally added Legends, footballers from years past that sometimes stretch the definiton of legend. This latest Legend coming to the mode certainly lives up to the word: Ajax, Barcelona and Netherlands icon Johan Cruyff.

Unfortunately passing away after a fight with cancer in 2016, Cruyff was known and revered throughout the footballing world for his exploits as both a player and manager. Ignoring his lengthy list of team and personal honours, his feint against Sweden at the 1974 World Cup — known as the Cruyff turn, one of very few moves to be named after a player — remains one of the most famous pieces of skill in the sport, and one that is replicated by footballers all over the world. As if that wasn't enough, his philosophy as manager of both Ajax and Barcelona influenced not only those clubs' greatest successes but also some of the best managers in the world, from Sir Alex Ferguson to Pep Guardiola. It's those aforementioned skills as a player that fans will be looking to replicate, however, with the trailer for Cruyff's addition showing a few of his best tricks, including that turn, naturally.

The Dutch master will be available in Pro Evolution Soccer 2018's myClub mode "soon".
