Three months ago we brought you this story, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 Teased
, in which Warhammer: Vermintide 2
was introduced. At that time, we were informed that the game would release on “PC via Steam and consoles,” but not which consoles. Those plucky Steam players get a confirmed announcement, while the rest of us get just a glimmer of hope. We (rightfully) assumed consoles means a release on Playstation 4 (for trophies obviously
Today is finally the day for confirmation. Independent developer Fatshark announced that Warhammer: Vermintide 2
will officially launch on PS4. We were also treated to other pieces of information. One is a description of the game. The game will feature first person co-op melee action and visually stunning graphics, and will introduce the dark, bloody, twisted faction, Chaos, as an antagonist group. There are 15 hero careers to conquer, new environments, talent trees, and the Heroic Deeds System.
The 5 heroes have returned to take on an even greater threat - the combined forces of the cowardly Skaven army and the barbaric Chaos faction. Prepare to be challenged like never before as you and your team desperately try to survive the never-ending hordes of enemies. Choose between 15 different careers, climb the talent tree, and customize your weapon arsenal to fit your unique play style as you fight your way through 13 stunning levels. The only thing standing between utter defeat and victory is you and your allies - if you fall, so will the Empire.
The second announcement to which we were treated is an upcoming beta. You’ll need an active email address and your name to sign up, and be at least 16 years old to participate. The key for the beta will be emailed just prior to the beta launching sometime in March or April. You can sign up here
We currently do not have a release date for Warhammer: Vermintide 2
, but the scheduled beta in March or April probably pushes a release date back into May 2018 or later.
