Arsenal And Konami Team Up For Pro Evolution Soccer

By Andy Mills, 6 days ago
As Konami strives to have the authenticity in Pro Evolution Soccer that their competitor FIFA does, they've mostly been opting for partnerships with individual clubs. In recent years, they've teamed up the likes of Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan and Liverpool. The latest partnership Konami have made is with Arsenal.

PES 2018 Arsenal partnership

This partnership essentially the same as the others, with it allowing Konami greater access to pretty much everything Arsenal. In addition to capturing the Emirates stadium in as much detail as possible, Konami's 3D scanning system will ensure that the players look as they should while the game's Player and Team ID mechanics looks to recreate the team's playing style as best as possible. You can check out the results in this short trailer for the announcement. One player is particularly conspicuous by his absence, however: Alexis Sanchez, who has been subject to all sort of transfer speculation about his future as he enters the last year of his contract with the London club.

Vinai Venkatesham, Chief Commercial Officer at Arsenal, had this to say about the deal:
Our working relationship with KONAMI to date has been extremely successful from a licensing perspective and we are delighted to extend this and welcome them as an official partner. We look forward to getting started in the next phase of our relationship with KONAMI and creating some fun and exciting content that both Arsenal and wider football fans will enjoy.
On the Konami side of things, Jonas Lygaard, senior director of Brand & Business Development at the Japanese publisher, was similarly enthused about the partnership.
We are determined to work with the very best clubs football has to offer and are delighted to partner with Arsenal. The relationship we formed last year has gone from strength to strength, most notably when Emirates Stadium played host to the PES LEAGUE World Final. As such, we were keen to work even closer with such a highly regarded club and the new agreement will allow us to perfectly recreate and feature Emirates Stadium, and the club's many stars, within PES 2018.
