Maize First Impressions

By Ethan Anderson,
Maize is probably one of the weirdest games I have played in a while, and it only gets weirder as the game progresses. Maize is a first-person adventure game in which two scientists misunderstand a message from the U.S. government. This misunderstanding led them to create sentient corn, and that's just the beginning of the game's oddities.

You start the game waking up at the edge of a cornfield, and you aren't given any guidance in terms of what to do or where to go. For the first little while, you'll be exploring and collecting items to solve puzzles. The first real objective you receive is to raise the giant rings found in the cornfield and restore power to the mysterious facility.

Check out my first impressions of the game below to find out more.

Maize is available now on the PlayStation 4.
