Weekend Announcements September 15-17th: Ben 10, Switchblade, Vesta and More

By Rebecca Smith,
We managed to bring you the announcements of Mystik Belle, RemiLore, Octahedron and MX vs ATV All Out over the weekend, but there were still a few titles that you won't have seen. The following six titles cover a variety of genres. Take a look:

Ben 10

We'd already revealed the existence of this game in July, but we knew little else about it. Developed by Torus Games, the title that is based on the new Cartoon Network TV series will be appearing on the Playstation 4 on November 14th. Ben, Gwen and Grandpa Max were on a cross-country road trip in the Rust Bucket. However, they've had to end their trip prematurely because of some inconsiderate super villains, such as Zombozo, Queen Bee, and the Weatherheads, and "their evil, world-threatening plans". Across three new playable epsiodes, players will be able to use all ten of Ben's alien forms to defeat his enemies with brutal combos. Their abilities can also be used to solve puzzles.

Cruz Brothers

DCF Studios side-scrolling fighting game tells the story of Coach Marcus Luz, whose reputation is destroyed when his best fighter is murdered by Tray Sorrow, the leader of a gang known as the Sons of Subversion. However, upon meeting brothers Felipe and Igor, he sees an opportunity to rebuild his life and his career. Whether it's fighting in the streets, illegal boxing clubs or the best academies that you can find, it's up to you to become world champion. The title will be coming to Playstation 4 later this year.

Fantasy Strike

David Sirlin's was the lead designer for Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and now he returns to Playstation 4 with his next fighting game. The title is designed for both newcomers and genre veterans with gameplay that is easy to pick up but has tactics that only the hardcore fans will master. The title currently includes ten fighters, such as a painter, a watchmaker, a flame archer and a dragon-man. There are also five arenas and game modes that include arcade, practice, local versus and online play. The game is currently in early access on Steam but will be coming to PS4 in its entirety next year.

Max: The Curse of Brotherhood

When developer Press Play was shuttered last year, you'd have been forgiven for thinking that their games died with them. Well, from the ashes rose Flashbulb Games and they've partnered with Wired Productions to bring their "cinematic fairy-tale adventure" to Playstation 4. After Max accidentally wishes his brother Felix away into the hands of evil forces, he needs to mount a rescue operation. Together with his magic marker, which can create, erase and alter the world around him, he must rescue his brother from the clutches of the evil lord Mustacho. The game is due this holiday season.

Switchblade

Developer Lucid Games includes team members that have worked on titles like Project Gotham Racing, Blur and Geometry Wars. From that experience comes this "arena-based 5v5 vehicular shooter". Players can switch between a variety of heavily armed vehicles at any time to add a strategic element to the normally chaotic and high-octane proceedings. Use a vehicle designed for speed to chase down an opponent, or use a heavy-duty battlewagon to take down a tower. Alternatively, take a support role as a healer or artillery backup. This latest free-to-play e-sport title is currently in closed beta on Playstation 4 and you can sign up here if you want to join in. If you'd rather wait for the game's full release, that will be early next year.

Vesta

Finalboss Games' upcoming title mixes elements of arcade games with puzzle solving. Players assume the role of Vesta, who finds herself in a post-apocalyptic world, more specifically in a complex that's managed by robots. Not only does she need to find a way out, she needs to find out what has happened to the world around her. She may be smart, agile and capable of handling energy, but she's not going to be able to do this on her own. Enter Droid, a strong and powerful robot who can do the things that she can't. You'll join the duo when the game is released on Playstation 4 later this year.

Will you be investing in any of these titles?
