Contrary to the expected, Kazutoki Kono says ACE COMBAT 7: Skies Unknown
will not be ready this year. Instead, he shared what he describes as some compensatory screenshots of the upcoming game. Players will be able to see a brand new demo at E3 showcasing non-VR missions together with more information about the game.
In a letter to fans, the ACE COMBAT
franchise manager explains that the decision was made in order "to devote additional time and effort to perfect and optimise", avoiding compromising the game's quality for the sake of meeting a deadline. Kazutoki also explains that with today's hardware, the team was given much more freedom to develop the game's experience, such as combat details like cloud cover or air current.ACE COMBAT 7: Skies Unknown
is now set to release in 2018.
