Weekend Headlines March 31st - April 2nd Part 1: Hellblade, Akiba's Beat & More

By Rebecca Smith,
While there were only six announcements over the weekend, there was plenty of other news that might have slipped past you. Below we have trailers, screenshots and new DLC, and we've had to split it up into two parts. Take a look:

Akiba's Beat

This musical RPG has finally received a release date — May 16th in North America and May 19th in PAL regions. To celebrate this news, the game also got a new trailer:

Battle Princess Madelyn

Just over a month ago, this title was revealed for Playstation 4. Having turned to Kickstarter for some extra funding, the team has now raised enough to enter production on a Vita version too. Players have also managed to fund a Speedrun mode for the game, playable in the game's main campaign mode, Arcade mode and the Insanity's Blade mode. Players have eight more days to reach any more stretch goals.

Conan Exiles

A month ago, we detailed new features that were about to be added to the Steam preview version of Conan Exiles, a title that will eventually be making its way to Playstation 4 later this year. Those features are now live and developer Funcom's latest stream showed off what players can expect from the new trebuchet and dye system, as well as answering some community questions.

Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony

Four characters were revealed for the upcoming adventure title. Kaede Akamatsu is the ultimate pianist, Miu Iruma is the ultimate inventor and Kokichi Oma is the ultimate supreme leader. As for Rantaro Amami, we're not sure what his ultimate ability is, but you can still find some more information on the character below.

GNOG

Publisher Double Fine finally revealed a release date for this upcoming Playstation VR title — May 2nd. Alongside the release date came a new trailer that showcases the game's PURP-L level.

New GOD EATER Project

There is a new title due to enter the God Eater franchise. What exactly publisher Bandai Namco has in store we are yet to find out, but they released another teaser trailer for the project that is only known as New GOD EATER Project.

GUILTY GEAR Xrd REV 2

This new fighting title is due out next month and can be purchased either as a standalone title or as an update to Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-. Take a look at the game's opening movie to prepare you for what's to come.

Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds (Vita)

Publisher Ideal Factory is giving this game the Limited Editon treatment. As well as a copy of the game on Vita, the Limited Edition will include a Collector's Box, a Shinsengumi Warriors Bento Box, a Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds Furoshiki, a "Record of Service" Art Book, the "Melodies from Kyoto" Official Soundtrack and a reversible cover sleeve. You can pre-order the title from the publisher's website from April 18th.

Limited Edition

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice

When development began on this upcoming hack & slash title, Ninja Theory promised to be completely transparent about the game's development process with their fans. The result is that we now have the 27th developer diary, focusing on Senua's Soundscape.

Hyper Light Drifter

This action RPG is nearing a year since its release on Playstation 4 but that hasn't stopped developer Heart Machine from announcing a special physical version of the game. Limited to just 9,000 copies and exclusive to iam8bit.com, the physical version will include a reversible gold foil cover, a full color instruction manual and a fold-out world map. The package will cost US$29.99.

Physical Edition

Mages of Mystralia

After taking a look at the main character in a couple of different developer diaries, the "Ed Greenwood Talks Mystralia" series continues with its third episode. This one speaks of the process of writing for a video game.

Mantis Burn Racing

This arcade racer got its first two DLC packs last week. The first pack is the "Elite Class" DLC pack that adds a new class of vehicles to the game: three ‘Elite’ Hover vehicles that use turbines to hover above the ground. This makes them less susceptible to changes on the track's surface. These vehicles also add their own 12 event career season but don't add more trophies. If you want to try out these vehicles, you can purchase the pack for £1.99 / €2.49 / US$2.49.

The second pack is the "Snowbound Pack" that adds a new snow-themed race environment and four more tracks to the game. It also extends the single-player campaign by adding season two and season three to the Veteran Class career — a total of 34 extra events. Unlike the above pack, this one is free to download.

Osiris: New Dawn

Six months have passed since we last heard anything about this title. We still haven't really got any more news to share, but we do have a set of new images if you want to take a look.

Stay tuned for part two with more trailers, screenshots, details, release dates and updates.
