Mass Effect: Andromeda Screens - People, Exploration and Combat

Advance reviews for Mass Effect: Andromeda may question whether it is a worthy successor to the Mass Effect Series throne, but the latest screenshots prove that it is the prettiest instalment so far.

Mass Effect: Andromeda March screens 1

Relationships and choices have always been central to the Mass Effect franchise and Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to continue that tradition with a host of new characters to meet and fates to influence. The old system of Paragon and Renegade choices was not loaded aboard the Hyperion to make the journey to Andromeda — the new rational, emotional, casual and professional options should in theory create a more nuanced experience of consequences, but will they shape the story as effectively?

Mass Effect has always involved exploration of both planets and space and Mass Effect: Andromeda will provide its Pathfinders with plenty of sights to see while working through a long list of quests. I don't know about you, but I suspect the Nomad might be everything I ever wished the Mako to be.

Exploring and building relationships is all well and good, but will the combat in Mass Effect: Andromeda deliver a critical hit or miss by miles? Like earlier games we will get to combine gunplay and special abilities but with the addition of some new moves and an extensive gear-crafting system. Instead of character class being fixed at the start of the game we will have flexibility to switch between ability profiles to suit the situation, so Cinderella you can be the adept who engineers the infiltration of the ball!

Mass Effect: Andromeda will be released on March 21st in North America and March 23rd in Europe.
