Sonic Forces Info Drop

Now that the dust has settled around SEGA revealing Project Sonic's official name of Sonic Forces, we can take a look at some of the media released late last week for the holiday-bound modern Sonic title.

First up, there is a whopping 30 seconds of gameplay. Combine that with last summer's reveal trailer and we get a decent glimpse of the game.

SEGA has also released the main theme music. The Sonic series has always been known for its catchy tunes. How does this one stack up?

Lastly, there are two screenshots. They appear to be snapshots of the same area we saw in the gameplay footage.

That's all of the information about Sonic Forces from their SXSW panel, although there was some new insight about the other 2017 Sonic title, Sonic Mania. While it seems like a lot, at the end of the day it amounts to very little. We should see more news cropping up as the title approaches its launch, which is currently scheduled for this year's holiday season.

SEGA has also said both Sonic titles are in honor of the series' 25th anniversary. The real thought on everyone's minds, bearing in mind the infamous Sonic '06 was for the hedgehog's 15th anniversary, is if this new modern Sonic will be a repeat of 2006, or more on the side of the positively-received 20th anniversary game Sonic Generations. For that, we will just have to wait and see.
