"Out with the new, in with the old!" seems to be Capcom's motto of late. After recently announcing a current-gen version of Resident Evil Revelations
, the prolific publisher and developer has announced another oldie is on the way in the form of The Disney Afternoon Collection
, featuring six retro classics from the NES days.
In case offering two purchasing options for DuckTales Remastered
on the Playstation 3 wasn't enough, players can enjoy that game as well as its sequel, now on the Playstation 4. There are four other games included too, bringing the total for the collection up to six:
- Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers and Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers 2 – Bring in a friend for classic co-op Capcom platforming action as one of you plays as Chip, and the other as Dale.
- Darkwing Duck – Jump in the shoes of superhero Darkwing Duck and fight crime with lots of charm and wits.
- DuckTales and DuckTales 2 – Embark on classic treasure seeking adventures through exotic stages as the pogo master millionaire Scrooge McDuck.
- TaleSpin – Take to the skies as rad pilot Baloo in a unique take on the shoot 'em up genre, where you get to change the direction of your plane at any time.
In addition to being playable on a newer console, the games possess some swanky new features. There's a Rewind mode, instantly letting you back things up when you inevitably die a horrible death — old games were hard, okay? — Time Attack, letting players compete against their friends via leaderboards to see who is the speediest, and Boss Rush, which is as it sounds. Rewind is unusable in both Time Attack and Boss Rush, so these modes should pose a much steeper challenge.
They've also dug up some old artwork, music, and other bonus content from when these games were being developed. This will all be included as extras. The Disney Afternoon Collection
is already arriving next month on Playstation 4. It'll be here April 18th for the going price of US$19.99.
