Weekend Headlines Feb 17-19th Part 2: Trailers

Following on from the announcements that occurred this weekend, we now have the trailers that were also revealed over the three day period.

Grab the popcorn because we'll be here for a while. Atelier Firis: The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey showcased some new gameplay footage of the game's updated combat system. While in battle, characters can use combinations of unique and standard attacks, as well as supporting items to allow them to quickly defeat enemies. Chaining abilities fills the on-screen linkage gauge, which is used to trigger powerful Chain Burst attacks during which all party members can interlink their moves. For the first time in the Atelier franchise, the game will also include sub-weapons. Each character can equip two types of sub-weapon with a different skill effect and damage type.


Fury Unleashed will be entering Steam's Early Access program on February 24th. To celebrate that fact, developer Awesome Games Studio released a new trailer. The game will appear on Playstation 4 later this year.


Following on from the first developer diary for Birthdays the Beginning, the game's creator Yasuhiro Wada introduces the aspects of the game that relate to "Nurture" in the second diary.


The development of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is coming along nicely. In the latest update from Inti CREATES, the game's creator IGA interviews Michiru Yamane, the lady who has composed the game's soundtrack.


In Buck, players will face many enemies and challenges as they travel through the post-apocalyptic wasteland. What will be your weapon of choice?


Defenders of Ekron is game that combines adventure and shmup gameplay elements. The new trailer showcases the latest gameplay footage for the title.


While FlatOut 4: Total Insanity had already been confirmed for consoles, developer Kylotonn Games teamed up with publisher Strategy First to bring the game to Steam. While this announcement wouldn't usually be of interest, it did bring along a new trailer:


The latest GOD WARS Future Past trailer takes a slightly different approach than usual. Here we see a time-lapse video where the game's artist Sawaki Takeyasu creates one of Japan's deities, Ookami. The deity appears in the game as a Myriad God who has lost its sanity, instead becoming a Tatarigami that brings death and destruction.


The latest trailer for Hob displays the game's mood. Players are invited to explore the world's landscapes, abandoned ruins and mechanical dungeons.


Human: Fall Flat was revealed for consoles nearly a year ago, but No Brakes Games has now confirmed that they have teamed up with Curve Digital to make sure that the game definitely makes it to Playstation 4. Check out the latest trailer where players use ragdoll physics to help Bob navigate the puzzles of the game's dreamscapes.


The first trailer for Mages of Mystralia showcased the basic fireball aspect of spellcrafting. Now we get another look at spellcrafting, this time telling us all about the numerous behaviours and augments that can be used.


MLB The Show 17 releases next month and it allows players to create their own perfect 25-man baseball team through the Diamond Dynasty mode. Players must collect the cards for the players they desire before using their team to play a variety of different game modes. The trailer below gives a full five-minute rundown of all of the mode's ins and outs.


In Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, players will join a group of adventurers, including the former king of Ding Dong Dell, a 48-year-old president of Ichi no Kuni and a young adopted air pirate. Take a look at the group's escapades in the lat4est gameplay trailer.


Stranger of Sword City Revisited (Vita) is out next week on February 28th. Just days before its release, you can check out the game's first official trailer.


Just three months remain until The Surge is released on a Playstation near you. In the video below, you can watch 14 minutes of gameplay, commentated by Deck13's Game Designer Adam Hetenyi. Engineer Thorsten Lange explored the "dystopian environments in CREO’s mysterious industrial and RND complex, the Abandoned Laboratories".


We have two new trailers for Toukiden 2. The first showcases a new weapon type: Sword & Shield. Blending offence and defence, they can each be used for light and heavy attacks. They also have special abilities that can be combined with the Demon Hand, balancing the scales of power when facing Oni!


The second trailer also showcases a new weapon type; this time it's the Chain Whip. This one offers fast-paced manouevres that can tear Oni apart in the air and on the ground. Like the Sword & Shield, this weapon type can be used for both light and heavy attacks, as well as featuring abilities that can be combined with the Demon Hand.


Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr has also just entered alpha on Steam. This version of the game is known as The Founding, named after the founder players who will provide the vital feedback that will be used to shape the game into its final form. Meanwhile, take a look at the latest trailer:


Finally, Zero Escape: The Nonary Games got a video where developer Aksys Games showcased some of the new gameplay features in the updated port of 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors.
