Snake Pass Launches in March

Sumo Digital, developer of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, has announced their upcoming puzzle-platformer Snake Pass will be releasing in March. The title will be available on Playstation 4.

While Snake Pass is a puzzle platformer at heart, it's also physics-based. The developer tried to emulate the real-life physics of a snake. Snakes don't jump, run or climb like typical platforming protagonists; they slither and slide. Players will step into the shoes — er, body — of Noodle, an aptly-named snake. As can be seen in the trailer, Noodle can slither and slide, but also squeeze into small spaces and coil around objects to progress. Like many classic platformers, he has a sidekick, Doodle the Hummingbird. To creator Seb Liese, it was something of a "love letter" to games like Banjo Kazooie. The game features 15 levels set across four different worlds.

Sumo Digital has embraced the variety of different features each console offers, with options for both the Xbox One, PS4 Pro and Nintendo Switch. Here are the features for PS4 Pro:

Owners of the PlayStation 4 Pro with 4K TVs will be able to play Snake Pass in a higher resolution, allowing them to appreciate the beautiful, Unreal Engine 4 powered visuals in pin-sharp detail. Owners of a PlayStation 4 Pro with HD TVs will be able to play Snake Pass at a higher frame rate. Snake Pass will also support High Dynamic Range on PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation 4. Players with compatible TVs will be able to experience the lush colours and textures of Haven Tor in incredibly vibrant HDR. Prepare your eyeballs.

Snake Pass will be available on March 28th in North America and March 29th in Europe.
